Elisabeth Knall is a PhD Candidate in Art History, working under the supervision of Professor Angela Vanhaelen. Elisabeth’s research addresses the consumption of culture in Scandinavia during the early modern period, in partiuclar how social mobility, scientific discoveries, and colonialist aspirations are reflected in still life painting, botanical illustrations, and garden design during Sweden’s Era of Greatness, between 1611 and 1718.
